Summary

The poll data screen reads information from the vehicle (via the OBD2 converter hardware), and displays a summary table of information gathered. The actual data points to be gathered are specified via the polling designer screen. You can control how many data points are collected and how often the screen is updated by using the max poll loop(s) and screen refresh fields.

Field Descriptions

  • Screen Refresh (secs) - specifies how often the summary will be updated. The idea is to allow the vehicle polling to occur as fast as possible, without the screen painting process slowing it down. It is also useful if the operator wants to be able to read current values easily, and to eliminate cursor flicker and blur.
  • Max Poll Loops - specifies the maximum number of poll loops to execute before stopping. This is useful if the operator wants to see a predetermined number of data points, or to limit the amount of PC memory involved in logging data
  • Summary Table - The summary table is updated as often as defined by the screen refresh field.
Events have additional information via color code as follows:
    • grey background shows that the current value is equal to the minimum and maximum values (the data has never changed)
    • yellow background indicates that a polling eror has occured during the last screen update interval
    • blue text indicates a change in the maximum or minimum values
